Prague has been on my bucket list for a long time. When we were making plans to meet up with our friends the Smiths “somewhere in Europe”…. and did quick google search of Top 10 Xmas Markets…. I was happy Prague was towards the top of that list. We flew in from Bremen on a cold Saturday morning with plans to stay for 2 nights – it was enough time to get a feel for the city but I’d like to go back in the warmer temperatures at some point.
The Christmas Markets in Europe are probably the most impressive thing I’ve seen while living here. They create these temporary villages literally overnight, but all the structures and infrastructure seem so…. well, permanent. One of the best parts is drinking all the Hot Wine (how else are you supposed to warm up)… as well as the yummy food. We were also able to get some xmas presents while in Prague – Joey picked out some soaps for the grandmas and we also got some little trinkets and ornaments as souvenirs.
Our last night we were able to have a very traditional Roasted Duck meal served in traditional fashion. All the food over the course of the weekend was good. We did have a little snafu getting home since there was some snow in Europe – but ended up getting on a direct flight to Hamburg and renting a car from there which ended up OK. All in all I’d reco a visit to Prague, it really was magical around the Holidays.
